I enjoy working on large-scale pieces because it allows for big gestures and spontaneous brushstrokes. Combining materials such as oil stick, sand, tar, and acrylic paint loosely on the canvas surface opens up the opportunity for shapes and lines to appear and disappear during the process. Eventually with time, the elements coalesce into a whole and feel complete.
