This work was inspired by the contemporary artist, Jasper Johns.
It is part of a series of ten collage/assemblages. Each piece focuses on one of the numbers zero to nine.
The work involves layering and adhering vintage papers and documents to a primed rag paper surface. I then painted and layered various colors in acrylic. After stenciling numbers, also in acrylic, I adhered a three dimensional number 3 followed by more collage and acrylic layering to complete the process.
