Inclusion Programming Returns!
Another Saturday afternoon event to bring the kiddos to is Inclusion Programming, which is relaunching at Hemisfair in partnership with DisABILITY SA. Inclusion Programming has adaptive activities for all ages and abilities and takes place every fourth Saturday of each month from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Join us for this free, all-embracing afternoon including an array of inclusive arts and crafts, music, movement, literacy, health and wellness as well as a caregiver corner—it’s all free and open to the public! Enjoy Hemisfair amenities, equipment and vendors dedicated to making your visit an immersive experience. Inclusion Programming is made possible through generous contributions to the Hemisfair Conservancy by Community First Health Plans, Faye L. and William L. Cowden Charitable Foundation, Frederic J. & Dorothea Oppenheimer Foundation, Green Door Thrift Shop, Howard Energy Partners, The Greehey Family Foundation, The Louis Herbert Stumberg Jr Fund, Woods Foundation and gracious individual donors.

Story Time
Every Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., Hemisfair brings Story Time to life in Yanaguana Garden. Join us with a friend and a smile on the Reading Rug for a compelling Book of the Week, alongside a STEAM-related activity that follows. Every first Tuesday of the month, the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM) takes over Story Time to read from their Conscious Curriculum series, also followed by a STEAM-related craft activity inspired by the book. Story Time is made possible by the Alamo Kiwanis Club Charities, The RK Group, Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation and individual donations to the Hemisfair Conservancy.
Super Fun Saturday with H-E-B
Every third Saturday of the month is Super Fun Saturday with H-E-B at Hemisfair. Enjoy a multitude of free activities and fun for the whole family. Our next installment of Super Fun Saturday is themed “Spring is Blooming!” and takes place May 21 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Connect with us in nature and learn all about the seeds that help the park blossom in beauty! The fun doesn’t stop there, you can also gather your own samples at several activity stations.
Play All Day!
While our weekend events are lively, if you’re searching for a more laid-back time Hemisfair is open, rain or shine, seven days a week from 5 a.m. until midnight. Our amenities are created with all activity levels and abilities in mind, making Hemisfair the perfect summer hangout.
With San Antonio’s summer heat quickly approaching, the Union Pacific Railroad Splash Pad offers a spot to cool off. The Splash Pad contains water features that spray, mist and shoot streams of water to create an awe-inspiring and inviting place for recreational water play.
Didn’t bring a spare change of clothes to enjoy the Splash Pad? No worries! Check out our Sand Play Area. Nestled underneath the shade of trees in Yanaguana Garden, the Sand Play Area is beneficial for developing a sense of textures and is a great opportunity for children to have unstructured play time. Whether it’s time to build a sandcastle, dig, sift or bury found treasures, Hemisfair’s Sand Play Area helps little imaginations run wild.
Have an on-going family competition? Keep it alive and friendly at Hemisfair with a game of cornhole, ping pong, foosball, chess or checkers. You can find a variety of backyard games throughout Yanaguana Garden.
The playground at Yanaguana Garden features climbing structures, dual disc swings, a spinning bowl seat, selfie swings, a slide and the iconic blue panther and anhinga bird. This all-embracing playground is certain to be a hit among kids, and you may even catch yourself wanting to climb the structures! Go for it— we pride ourselves on offering fun from Pre-K to grey.
